Ojalá GONZO pueda salir del atolladero y realizar trabajos como los de antaño, como Chrno Crusade, Trinity Blood, Blue Submarine Nº6, Vandread, Saikano, I -wish you were here-, Gate Keepers, etc., o producciones recientes en las que tuvieron buenos resultados como Special A, Strike Witches, Seto no Hanayome, Saki o Rosario to Vampire.

Sin embargo, cabe destacar que a pesar de los despidos y renuncias, el antiguo personal de GONZO sigue trabajando y de hecho han fundado varios estudios de animación:

• David Production (Book of Bantorra, DOGS, Ristorante Paradiso)
• LAMBDA FILM, del ex-presidente de GONZO, aún sin trabajos publicados
• Hoods Entertainment (Aki Sora, Seikon no Qwaser)
• Studio Gokumi (Koe de Oshigoto!)
• Encourage Films (Ontama!)
• CORE (ha hecho trabajos de fotografía para algunos animes de Seven Arcs)
• Sanzigen (ha hecho trabajos de 3D para animes de Seven Arcs y Picture Magic)
• Graphinica (ha hecho trabajos para AIC y Encourage Films)
• Languedoc Studio

Como lo ven, nueve estudios de animación de los cuales cuatro han producido animes, otros tres han realizado trabajos de asistencia y dos que de momento no ha realizado nada. En mi opinión, el estudio más fuerte de los nueve es David Production, quienes han producido tres animes completos, de los cuales Book of Bantorra ha sido el mejor y ha gozado de una decente receptividad en las ventas de BDs/DVDs.

Pues:

- Como es la primer tanda de preeliminares, no hay tantos votos. No se extrañen si los ganadores de las tandas subsecuentes reciben más votos que la ganadora de esta tanda
- Poplar resultó ser bastante Poplar, pero contra la maquinaria bestial de K-ON!! poco puede hacer
- El año pasado, Bakemonogatari superó a K-ON! en ventas, pero al parecer, dados los movimientos estratégicos entre Shaft y KyoAni, donde el último capítulo de Bake pasó hace algún tiempo, mientras K-ON!! sigue al aire al momento de la redacción, puesj…
- Iwasawa aparece en 8o, lo cual es algo elogiable, aunque no demasiado. Horo sigue fuerte
- Dije que le auguraba cosas buenas a Seitokai no Ichizon y Sora no Otoshimono, y no me equivoqué
- Bienvenidas las especulaciones sobre el resto de personajes

Una serie que resultó no ser para todos, pese a su popularidad

Esta temporada fue una de las mejores en mucho tiempo, con tantas producciones de valor. A reserva de las otras opciones, (Incluyendo K-ON!! que termina hasta Septiembre, y B Gata H Kei de la que ya hablé), voy a hablar de una serie que ha sido la dueña de mis tweets, por la que me desviví durante varios meses pensando “¿Cómo le hará Jun Maeda, escritor de VN, para sacar un anime decente?”

Por supuesto, los que me conocen también saben que soy, lo que se podría llamar un keyfag (El nombre menos despectivo y más weeaboo sería Kagikko, que para el caso, ambos significan “Fan de Key”)

(ADVERTENCIA: Este post es tl;dr, así que dedícale el tiempo necesario para rappelear a través de las murallas de texto)

(ADVERTENCIA 2: Este post contiene spoilers, así que si no has visto el anime del que se habla, podría arruinarse la sorpresa. Quedas advertido)

Hace ya mucho tiempo, cuando salió el primer PV de Angel Beats!, todo mundo pensó “¿Angel Beats!? ¿Y Rewrite qué? ¿No han terminado una VN y van a hacer otra?” Sí, durante ese tiempo, se pensaba que Angel Beats! sería una VN. Y es que la ilustración de NaGa (Quien hiciera Little Busters!) no ayudaba mucho a discernirlo. Al poco rato, se sabría la verdad: Sería un Anime. Y una novela ligera que actuaría de precuela. Y un manga. Y un 4-koma. En fin, sería un proyecto multimedios de forma análoga a Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha. Los PV que iban saliendo a intervalos irregulares iban generando expectación respecto de esta serie

Desde el principio, Angel Beats! sacó controversia: Yurippe se asemejaba mucho a Haruhi Suzumiya, quien no necesita presentación. Esto fue un turn-off para muchos, e incluso para los que esperabamos que sólo fuera una coincidencia desafortunada, nos dejó con la duda. ¿Será una parodia? ¿Un tributo? ¿Cómo puede ser posible que los de control de calidad hubieran pasado esto por alto?

Conforme pasaba el tiempo, y nuevos PV iban saliendo, las dudas se iban aclarando: Angel Beats! trataría sobre un mundo ubicado en la vida después de la muerte. Es decir, todos estaban muertos. Lo cual trajo el chiste de que “Todos van a llorar desde el episodio 1″. El motif de esta serie sería la vida (En One fue la eternidad, y en Clannad, la familia, por decir ejemplos)

Y entonces, el día esperado (2 de Abril) llegó… Y vaya que encantó a la audiencia. A pesar de los trolls (Haters be hatin’) muchos expresaban su gusto por las premisas, aunque nadie entendió de qué trataba. OK

Esto, señores, es la razón por la que existen los Kagikkos. Sí, seguro, los personajes son muy moé, la música deliciosa, los diseños están acorde con las personalidades, etc. etc. Pero si por algo es más conocido Maeda es por sus finales. Finales que te hacen llorar como nena aunque otras cosas en la vida no lo hagan. Finales que logras recordar semanas, meses o incluso años. Finales que podrían enviar a gente a los divanes o a hacerse más altos y vivir a base de blanqueador y cartón. Finales que, sin embargo, pueden no ser del agrado de todos. Finales que muchos sienten forzados.

Y una vez más, el amor entra en juego. Más allá de lo trillado que a algunos les suena el amor (Una actitud que se va generalizando, siendo quizá el mayor error que cometa la humanidad), sigue presente ahí. A pesar del miedo, del escepticismo y de la confusión de términos (Sexo NO es amor. Ambos son cosas independientes pero que juntas, son algo maravilloso… según me han contado), puedo mantenerme optimista. El amor aún mueve gente. Cuando el amor desaparezca, en breve lo hariamos nosotros

Dejando eso de lado, si algo destacó sobre esta serie, es el hecho de que el fandom hablaba de ella como el Puño de la Estrella del Norte. Especulaciones, impresiones, deseos, toda esa clase de cosas que demostraban que a uno no lo podían dejar indiferente. La amaban o la odiaban, claro está, puesto que todos somos diferentes. Y sin embargo, existió un error garrafal, incluso entre Kagikkos respetables:

Lo que muchos esperaban encontrar en Angel Beats!

Es desafortunado comparar Angel Beats! con las adaptaciones animadas de las otras obras de Key (O séase, Kanon, Air y Clannad, especialmente la última) porque para empezar, Angel Beats! es una producción original, no adaptada. Si algo comparten, dejando de lado lo obvio, es que no se pueden entender con la primera vista. Es necesario verlas varias veces, otorgándoles un cierto “valor de refrito” (O como se dice en inglés, “replay value”).

Aún así, podemos observar que a muchos dejó una sensación de vacío. Sintieron que quedaron muchas cosas sin decir, y que el final relativamente concluyente cerraba toda posibilidad de una explicación más satisfactoria. Y es que el anime solamente es una parte del cuadro. La parte principal, claro, pero incompleta a final de cuentas. Y es entonces donde recordamos que se trata de un proyecto multimedios. ¿Que el capitalismo salvaje qué? Por dios. Tú y yo sabemos cómo nos la vamos a curar. Dos palabras: Google. Tokyotosho. Puedes ir en paz. Sólo queda esperar la llegada del capítulo especial para BD a fines de año. Para muchos, puede ser bien la redención necesaria o la condena definitiva. Como la espera va a ser larga y dolorosa, veré la forma de sobrellevarla.

Cabe destacar que muchas veces, nos quejamos de series que se prolongan más allá de lo necesario, recurriendo a los rellenos para no terminar. Por el contrario, nos encontramos con esta serie que dejó con ganas de más pero que, si se disfruta por lo que es, encontramos una experiencia maravillosa. Cada capítulo es un standalone porque puede disfrutarse por sí mismo. Mi tarea ahora es ver el cuadro completo. Sonará raro, pero creo en este proyecto. No sólo porque LOL Kagikko Oblige, sino porque como los transformers, siento que hay “más de lo que ves”. BRB volveré a ver al SSS y a Kanade peleándose entre sí en un marasmo de malinterpretaciones mientras otros pierden tiempo de vida (Tanto en calidad como en cantidad) derramando bilis por algo que no estaba hecho para derramar bilis.

Cuando conseguí esto, aún por principios de abril, me pregunte ¿Para qué un Dakimakura de Tenshi? No parece que fuera a necesitarla si no hubieran eventos que nos hicieran desear una Dakimakura. Más tarde, con los capítulos 5 en adelante, lo comprendí perfectamente, y ya para el final, no me quise soltar de ella ;_;

Bueno, lo último fue broma. No tengo idea de cómo lavarla, y hay mucho polvo por mis lares, además de que no tengo la almohada corporal. Pero si la tuviera, no la soltaría ;_; *Hold it zutto zutto*

Preparándonos para la guerra...

Hoy, la tierra una vez más se encuentra desolada. De aquellos guerreros Tigre sólo queda el recuerdo. Los Neuerpanzer que la ayudaron a ganar teniendo a Maria (HnG!!) de rehén están abandonados en alguna jungla, esperando ser usados de nuevo. Sólo Maria, quien logró escapar, sabe dónde están, pero no tiene la suficiente fuerza para echar mano de ellos. Taiga es sólo una leyenda

Y mientras tanto, la mencionada Yui Hirasawa estaba cerca de un precipicio, llorando desconsoladamente por estar sola. Sólo podía encontrar consuelo en tocar a Gitah, tocar canciones melancólicas que contrastan con su personalidad. En una de esas, estaba tocando otra de sus canciones, cuando una voz familiar para ella le habla desde atrás:

- Yui ¿Qué es lo que estas haciendo?

Yui seguía llorando como si nada

- ¿Por qué estás llorando?
- Es que he quedado sola en este mundo
- ¿De qué estás hablando? Vamos al Club de Música Ligera por algo de té

Al oir estas palabras, se detuvieron un poco las lágrimas y los sollozos de Yui, quien al voltear, encontró a las otras 4 chicas como si nada hubiera pasado. Las otras chicas estaban sorprendidas al ver a Yui tan cambiada. Yui fue a abrazarlas con lágrimas de alegría, como si hubiera esperado este momento. Las otras chicas lloraron con ella y así estuvieron algunos minutos

Al llegar al salón del club, entre bromas, postres y té, fueron planeando la estrategia para restaurar la gloria del Sakurakou. Aseguran que nuevas amenazas vienen en camino, además de que aún viven los del Club de Mahjong (Otrora un cártel). La cangrejera supernatural y un grupo conocido como “El frente de guerra de los que no aceptan la muerte” o algo así, que bajaron a este espacio dimensional para acabar con cierto ángel. Ninguna tenía miedo. Tenían todo a su favor. Gran parte de los que fueran parte de Hiiragizawa se unieron a ellos. Aún había gente dispuesta a ser parte de sus filas (Cosa que no ocurría con la mayoría de cuadrillas). Sólo un pequeño error podría sacarlas de la jugada: Subestimar al resto

En una trinchera lejana, un hombre buscaba desertar de la guerra porque no podía lavarse la sangre de sus manos, porque ya había visto tantas muertes y decepciones. Ya no quería saber nada de esto. Pero vio algo que le hizo cambiar de opinión

Kanade-chan realmente es un ángel

Un ángel apareció ante sus ojos, y quedó tan encantado con ella, que decidió tomar las armas una vez más. Mandó construirse un Mecha poderoso, basado en los poderes de ese ángel. Para poder, de algún modo, aumentar sus números sin abusar del Harmonics, se creó la órden de los Knights of Angel. La orden que la defendería de todos aquellos que quieran abusar de ella, especialmente desde los rincones oscuros del agujero más profundo del diablo”

Ya es oficial. El Saimoé 2010 ha comenzado. Cuando hablo del Saimoé hablo de la versión japonesa que se celebra en 2ch entre los meses de Julio y Octubre de cada año, no la versión internacional que dura casi todo el año.

Pero si alguien pudiera llevarse la enchilada completa es, definitivamente, K-ON!!

Aún así, no pierdo las esperanzas de que Tenshi (Kanade) llegue bastante lejos
